The Eternal Affect

The Eternal Affect are a great Christian band I just started listening to. They have a great rock alternative sound and a small bit of screaming. I really like their music and I love that they are a christian band. The screaming sounds similar to Oh, Sleeper. I don't think I could classify them as a post hardcore band because there is very minimal screaming but screamo isn't everything they are just a really good band. They are similar to Skillet or Disciple with a good rock tone and the singer is great. I cant compare him to any other singer though I was gonna say he was similar to Skillet's singer but the singer of skillet has a sort of typical raspy rock voice but this guy doesn't. Grafton High School Battle of the Bands

 

  

 

 

 

 

I went to battle of the bands at my high school and the bands were so talented, way better than I expected. I always am loving screamo and sometimes I feel like it is the only thing I like but today I realized I never gave other genera's a chance. I think the radio makes good music bad because of over playing. I really really like these bands and one had violin and one had Cello they were bands I never would have thought to like its crazy I had like a revelation almost like screamo isn't everything. sitting through the show was just crazy good like music is just awesome and I love listening to it, I cant play music but I sure love listening to it. when people go to screamo concerts people are really intense and like mosh but it gives me a different feeling that might not make sense with the intensity of the music but I smile and I feel weird because who smiles listening to screamo? I don't know but I do it just makes me feel good and I am having that feeling right now listening to We Butter The Bread With Butter. But anyway I just think the bands that played at battle of the bands were extremely talented and it was an awesome night and I wish I could relive it. and my beautiful sister played and it was just great.

We Butter The Bread With Butter

Some people may argue with me for writing about We Butter The Bread With Butter because I strictly write about christian bands, but this band is not satins either and in fact I think really good Christian bands could learn from them because I think We Butter The Bread With Butter is the most talented band sound wise. They have a Grindcore-ness to them with many blast beats. there is an emptiness to them though because their lyrics are just funny and meaningless. They write about spongebob and potato salad but their sound is extremely good. they are freakin beast! They have the most hardcore sound I have ever heard and after listening to them I think The Devil Wears Prada is a calm band lol but seriously they are really hardcore and they make me feel so good like I'm on drugs. Another thing you should know about them is they are a German band and the only way I knew the words to their songs was translating it on Word. But even though this band is not a christian band I would totally recommend them if you want to hear a really hardcore techno screamo band that makes other screamo bands seem calm its crazy good.

My Cildren My Bride: Lost Boy

I got this CD for Christmas and it is freaking awesome! My Children My Bride is a Solid State Records band along with Underoath, August Burns Red, Haste The day and all the other good stuff. I really love the lyrics of these songs they make such clear sense to me in my mind and I really feel God wanted me to hear these songs. They have very good sound similar to Haste The Day. There is very little clear vocal so they are very similar to August Burns Red as well. I would recommend this album to people who love Underoath, August Burns Red, or Haste The Day. and that would make sense because they are under the same label and so they happen to have similar sound. its normal for bands under the same label to have similar sound because whoever is signing them obviously is looking for a band that they like and so they sound similar. If you went on Facedown, Solid State, and Rise Records website and listened to all the bands they would all sound similar. But anyway this album really reminds me of Haste The Day: Attack Of The Wolf King so if you like that album go get this one.

Sky Eats Airplane

I've been a fan of Sky Eats Airplane for about four years but I just recently bought this album and so ill write about it now. They sound like an average good screamo band with some awesome good techno sounds added in. They are awesome and have lots of clear vocal as well so they are more post hardcore techno. the beginning song of the album has a creepy sound to it and I use the cd as an alarm clock and it always creeps me out especially because right after I wake up in the morning everything seems extra scary because I'm still in dream mode. But ya I love way they do with their sounds they show lots of talent in that aspect. The clear vocalist has a great voice but it has a nasily feel to it I could compare him to have a voice much like the vocalist of Hawk Nealson. He is not as beautiful singer as some clear vocalists such as the vocalist of We Came As Romans. But just because the clear vocalist could be better I still really like the music. If you like We Came As Romans, Attack Attack or Blessthefall I think you would like Sky Eats Airplane.  

Austin is back with Of Mice & Men!

I always hate when bands keep changing their line up and changing their sound it just shows that they have problems and i don't like that. But at least Of Mice & Men have realized that Carlile is who they need and i think that is right because he pretty much made the band so he really shouldn't be kicked out. But I'm just really excited that he is back because he is one of my favorite screamers and i just wish i could actually tell him that. So i just wanted to share my feelings that i think it is awesome he is back

Accept Fate

 Accept Fate is a band that brings post hardcore to a new level with their mixed sounds that make a really awesome hardcore feel much like Sky Eats Airplane. The lead of this band Max Hayes has a really good scream that has the same qualities as Mike from The Devil Wears Prada and Elliot Coleman from Sky Eats Airplane mixed together.
